"A Sustainable Business Network for the DFW Metroplex":
Report after the first 12 months

It has been 12 months now since Sustainable Dallas announced its transition to a member-based sustainable business network.

During 2007 we have expanded our board, employed an Executive Director and a Marketing Consultant, held 5 events, and brought in our first 18 members.

North Texas businesses have responded with interest. Over 100 people attended our September 2007 event on "Opportunities in Emerging Carbon Markets" held at the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Plans for doing even more in 2008

Our members will gain even greater benefit from opportunities we have planned in 2008.

We are planning several Events for 2008. Our major event will be in April 2008 on the topic of "Green Finance: Why Green Lending and Socially Responsible Investment are so Hot".

At the end of 2008 we plan to hold an DFW Business Sustainability Awards event.

In 2008 our members will have sponsorship opportunities at these events. We will engage with members to explore Project opportunities that benefit North Texas economic development and that spotlight the sustainabile business strengths of participants.

We also plan to begin offering our Business Sustainability Planning consulting service.
